Reminiscing. And stealing Katie’s idea.
LABOR FACTS:
I was on bed rest for 10 weeks before I delivered (4 of which were in the hospital).
My water broke at 2:30 am (the day after my bed rest ended).
I was 4cm dilated when I arrived.
The doctor on call wanted to do a c-section but I held off because I had discussed with my doctor that we would be doing a vaginal delivery. (Both twins were head down).
Epidural at 6:30. Honestly, contractions were bearable but with twins, they strongly suggest an epidural in case of an emergency c-section.
Speaking of which, at around 7:45, Caroline’s heart rate dropped completely off the monitor and they rushed me to the OR for a c-section.
I cried, “I WANT MY MOM. SOMEBODY GET ME MY MOM” the entire way there. (My mom had literally just left the room to get coffee)
Turns out, the placenta had ruptured which resulted in Caroline losing oxygen. My doctor later informed me that Breanna’s cord was so short she would not have survived a vaginal birth. (she was baby b)
Recovery was a BREEZE and my scar looks amazing. I’m actually proud of my ‘mommy scar’ ;)
